In recent years, its diagnostic value has been impacted by PET-CT and endoscopic ultrasound, but the clinical application of VMS is still extensive in western countries, and related researches are constantly emerging. However, back in China, VMS is not implemented in most medical institutions, and is not effectively used even in those thoracic surgery centers.

Key words: Video-mediastinoscope, Lung cancer, Mediastinum
