Abstract:

Pulmonary contusion is a common disease among patients sustaining multiple injuries, especially those with blunt chest trauma .With common multiple complications including rib fractures, hemopneumothorax, abdominal organ injuries, and limb fractures and lack of typical symptoms at early stage, pulmonary contusion sometimes can not be diagnosed , and would develop to pneumonia, atelectasis, or even acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) , associated with high mortality rate.Researchers home and abroad all advocate prompt and accurate diagnosis at early stage and integrated management to further improve the efficacy and avoid the substantial mortality , but consolidated specific approaches are not reached. This article is a literature review of the recent advances in diagnosis and therapy of pulmonary contusion based on recent studies on pulmonary contusion home and abroad.
