Abstract:
Objective To explore the safety and feasibility of the application of single-port thoracoscope in elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) .
Methods The clinical data of 209 elderly patients with NSCLC who underwent lobectomy or segmentomy surgery with single-port thoracoscopy and 239 non-elderly patients who underwent the same surgery in the same period from August 2018 to August 2019 for comparison were collected and summarized.
Results The differences of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay and total hospitalization expenses were statistically significant between the two groups (P>0.05) . Postoperative complications such as lung infection, lung air leakage, atrial fibrillation, and pulmonary embolism were not significantly different (P>0.05) .
Conclusion Single-port thoracoscopic surgery of lobectomy or segmentomy surgery has the same effect in the perioperative period between elderly patients and non-elderly patients, which can bring greater surgical benefits to elderly patients and has high feasibility and safety.
