Malignant pleural mesothelioma: survival on the scalpel

Abstract:

Malignant pleural mesothelioma is a kind of disease with high degree of malignancy and poor prognosis. For patients who have surgically resectable lesions, pleurectomy/decortication (P/D) and extrapleural pneumonectomy (EPP) are the key procedures to improving the short-term and long-term outcomes of patients. With the development of comprehensive treatment concept and drugs, the preoperative and postoperative trimodality treatment has brought hope to patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma.
