Abstract:

As an effective cardiopulmonary support treatment, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO) originated from extracorporeal circulation and perfusion, and got development in the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome. ECMO has a bright prospect in general thoracic surgery, because the progress of ECMO technology maximizes the support of combined heart lung for the complex operation under the premise of minimizing the damage. In recent years, some medical centers have made helpful explorations in the use of ECMO, and have obtained favorable results. The application of ECMO in general thoracic surgery is reviewed, and its prospect is also introduced in this paper.
