Classification of traumatic rib and ster nal fractures

Abstract:

Rib fractures are the most common form of blunt chest injuries.Multiple fractures of ribs areimportant indicators of trauma severity.As the cases of rib fractures increases,especially the incidence and mortality of rib fractures in the elderly continue to rise,a correct understanding of the type,extent and severity of thoracic injuries can help to treat chest injuries more accurately in acute cases.
