Abstract:

Thoracic surgery is a discipline with a wide spectrum of diseases, high difficulty and high risk of operation, and rapid development of diagnosis and treatment technology. An excellent thoracic surgeon not only needs to master solid theoretical knowledge and excellent clinical skills but also needs to have strong psychological quality and the ability to integrate across disciplines. Therefore, the training period for thoracic surgeons is long and difficult, and standardized and systematic training is particularly important. This article briefly describes the characteristics of the training system for thoracic surgeons and discusses the current challenges faced by the training of thoracic surgeons in China. We hope that it can be used as a reference for the training of thoracic surgeons in China and promote the improvement of the quality of thoracic surgeon training.
